Highland School of Architecture
3rd Year BSc Group Project
The main objective of this project was to design a new Highland School of Architecture that would be located at the new Beechwood Innovation Park in Inverness. The design of the building was to reflect the architecture of the area yet be a modern building that would showcase architectural innovation. With the hopes of inspiring young architectural students to want to come and study at the facility.
7N Architects released a design aesthetics brief for all future developments within the campus. The brief contained a materials and colour palette which we had to meet. Each building within the campus would have its own unique design but would not overshadow any other building due to the fact that all materials would be linked.
After different concepts where considered and changed to meet the brief set out by our lecturers, who also acted as our client, this was the chosen design. The materials used for the cladding of the building reflected not only that of the 7N campus brief, but also the sites history
